Spiritual Growth and Development
At MEU, we emphasize the development of students as whole individuals, mentally, physically, emotionally, and especially, spiritually. Therefore, apart from all of our academic requirements and social activities, we aim to ensure that students’ spiritual needs are adequately met.
Because of this, we’d like to stress the availability of all faculty and staff members as people with whom students can talk about and receive counsel on a wide variety of subject matters. While we realize that we are a Seventh-day Adventist Christian institution, we do not discriminate and we whole-heartedly welcome individuals from all religious faiths and affiliations.
Faculty and staff members will not criticize or turn away students who believe differently than them. Rather, we would like to foster a place for open discussions and ideas based upon the biblical principal mentioned in Isaiah 1:18 (“Come now let us reason together says the Lord.”). Students are welcome to respectfully disagree with MEU faculty and staff on spiritual and religious subject matters as long as the channels of communication are kept open.
Campus Ministries Office
While we place emphasis on the availability of all faculty and staff members, the Campus Ministries Team, lead by our Chaplain Andres Acuña, exists for the sole purpose of the spiritual growth of our students. Therefore, we would like to urge both staff members and students to look to them first if they need spiritual counsel or guidance.
Our Campus Ministries’ Spiritual Master Plan for this academic year is based upon words of found in 1 John 4:7.
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and know God."
