About MEU
Our roots in Lebanon go back to the 1930s, but we have been in our current location since 1946. MEU is thus one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Lebanon. Our large and peaceful campus, away from the busy streets yet close to town, allows space for relaxation and reflection alone or with friends

We are part of a world-wide family of more than 100 colleges and universities operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church We maintain a closer relationship with two of these in North America.

MEU is a happy and caring community where pursuit of academic excellence is seen as important, but where social and spiritual needs are cared for as well. We are an international community where all persons are seen as of equal value irrespective of cultural background, race, or religious affiliation.

Welcome from the President

While students come to us to pursue a university degree, it is our ambition to make these studies as rewarding as possible and at the same time allow for opportunities to develop a spiritual base that will make a solid foundation for life, and to further the social skills of students through interaction with colleagues and professors.

In an ever shrinking world, young people are likely to have to deal with people from different countries and cultures. Our international faculty and student body allow for close contact with people that are different.

Middle East University is small enough to have retained a family flavor where we like to think that employees and students get along and show mutual respect and appreciation.

If you would like to be a member of the MEU family, please get in touch. Reading on will tell you how.
