A Word About the Department

The Department of Computer Science has been in existence over 20 years and works in conjunction with other academic disciplines in order to facilitate operations and provide solutions. We currently offer BS and MS degrees in Computer Science, as well as a BS degree in Graphic Design and Digital Media.

It is our mission to educate professionals with a sound knowledge of their field supported by understanding, good research habits, inventiveness, and critical thinking.

Why Study Computer Science at MEU?

By studying Computer Science at MEU, students will learn to apply the theories of science, mathematics, and computing in order to design practical solutions for defined problems. The department is staffed with capable teachers and our computer labs are equipped with the latest hardware and software. We make every effort to remain on the cutting edge of tecnological advancement. The structure of the degree programs create a unique educational opportunity and a stimulating academic experience.

The Graphic Design and Digital Media program combines art with technology. It offers students the chance to learn how to create artistic design, make dimensional animations, formulate special effects, construct web pages, edit digital videos, and learn photographic skills. Our program facilitates comprehensive exposure to the technical skills necessary for a student to become a competent and competitive professional.

Career Options

Computer Science is one of the most in demand disciplines in our modern technological world. Graphic designers also play an influential role in shaping our visual environment by combining images, text, and motion graphics.

Graduates from the Computer Science program will be able to work with or lead research and development teams in laboratories, manage databases and networks for corporations, teach computing or work as a support specialist, as well as write programs or develop web applications.

Students who graduate with Graphic Design and Digital Media can work for marketing and advertising agencies, magazines, television stations developing animation graphics, in-house designers for businesses and corporations, design and web-design firms, or as professional freelancers.
