A New Chapter for MEU: Dr. John Issa Appointed Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing

Middle East University is entering a new season of growth, clarity, and strategic direction, and at the center of this moment stands Dr. John Issa, newly appointed Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing. With a career dedicated to education, leadership, and service, Dr. Issa brings to this role not only decades of experience but a deep understanding of MEU’s identity and mission.

A Legacy of Service and Academic Leadership

Dr. Issa has served MEU faithfully since 2004, taking on roles that have shaped academic programs, strengthened institutional culture, and supported the formation of hundreds of students. His past leadership includes:

  • Faculty member in the Faculty of Education
  • Director of the Language Institute
  • Director of the General Education Program
  • Director of the Freshman Program
  • Dean of the Faculty of Education
  • Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

Each of these roles reflects a consistent commitment: helping students grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially through purposeful education.

Academic Foundations for Strategic Vision

With an MBA from Frederick Institute of Technology (Cyprus), a D.E.S. in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Educational Leadership from USEK, Dr. Issa brings a strong academic and administrative foundation. Combined with his hands-on experience, this equips him to lead MEU through a moment in which universities must communicate with clarity, authenticity, and innovation.

Leading MEU into a More Visible Future

The newly established Office of Public Relations and Marketing will oversee:

  • Institutional communication
  • Brand management and strategic positioning
  • Outreach and recruitment
  • Public relations and partnerships

These functions are essential to MEU’s growth—especially in Lebanon’s competitive higher-education landscape.

Dr. Issa’s long involvement with MEU’s marketing and recruitment efforts positions him uniquely to guide this department with both experience and heart. His leadership will help strengthen MEU’s visibility locally and internationally, sharing the university’s story with purpose and coherence.

Leading MEU into a More Visible Future

This appointment comes at a time when MEU is building new pathways for sustainability, reputation, and enrollment. Strengthening communication is not about publicity alone—it is about reinforcing trust, cultivating community, and communicating a mission shaped by faith, excellence, service, and wholeness.

We pray that God will bless Dr. Issa’s ministry as he leads this strategic work and continues to serve MEU with the dedication that has marked his career.
