Service at MEU

At Middle East University, service is woven into both academic and extracurricular life.

Students are prepared to serve through diverse opportunities such as volunteer programs, mission trips, and service-oriented classes.

Our school is to take a higher position in an educational point of view than any other institution of learning, by opening before the young nobler views, aims, and objects in life, and educating them to have a correct knowledge of human duty and eternal interests.

Philosophy of Service

The Philosophy of Service class, for instance, emphasizes practical service, helping students develop leadership skills while engaging in community outreach, such as distributing meals to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). MEU’s academic programs are designed to equip students with knowledge and practical skills that foster service-minded leadership in a variety of contexts, locally and globally.

Learn Languages to Serve

Recognizing that language is a key tool in global service, MEU’s English and Arabic programs prepare students to communicate effectively in diverse settings.

Whether working with international organizations, serving as missionaries, or engaging in humanitarian aid, graduates of these programs are equipped to bridge cultural and linguistic barriers in their service efforts.

Advanced School of Volunteer Service

The Advanced School of Volunteer Service (ASVS) offers a Certificate in Volunteer Service (CVS), an advanced training program for volunteers.

This program prepares individuals for a significant impact in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region and globally within the Seventh-day Adventist Church, emphasizing cultural sensitivity, effective communication, and leadership in transcultural contexts.

Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship

This program empowers students to develop innovative solutions to social challenges such as poverty, healthcare access, and education. Combining business principles with a heart for service, students learn how to create sustainable projects that address critical community needs while fostering long-term impact.

Volunteer at MEU

Through the Adventist Volunteer Service (AVS), individuals can serve at Middle East University in various roles, supporting areas like communications, student services, and outreach.

Volunteers become part of MEU’s mission-driven community, gaining experience while making a meaningful impact. Opportunities are available through VividFaith.

Mission Trips

MEU both welcomes mission teams and sends students and faculty on service-focused trips. These experiences allow participants to support communities in need through medical outreach, educational programs, and infrastructure projects.

Whether working in refugee camps, rebuilding homes, or providing essential services, mission trips create transformative experiences for both those who serve and those who receive aid.
