Before dinner, a good number of faculty and staff participated in a cultural tour of the village, visiting a bell factory, the Monastery of Saint Antoine, and the oldest pine tree in Lebanon, among other interesting sites. The tour was led by a local guide who enhanced the experience with fascinating facts about the history of the area.
By the time the tour ended, everyone was ready for a good meal. The group was not disappointed by the fresh and varied options served at the restaurant. However, the evening was memorable not only because of the excellent food, but also because of the lively interaction among colleagues and the engaging activities, including games that helped participants discover interesting facts about different faculty and staff members.
The only sad note of the evening was the farewell to two members of the team: Pascal Chahine and Rebeka Toledo. Pascal is moving to serve God in another country with his wife, who recently completed her theological studies at MEU. Rebeka is also following God’s call to serve in a different country. We pray that God will continue to use them to bless others, just as they have been a blessing at MEU.
Special moments were devoted to reflection and thanksgiving both at the beginning and at the end of the dinner. Each team member was invited to thank someone who had been especially encouraging to them during the year. In addition, the president distributed a special note of appreciation to each faculty and staff in recognition of their dedication and commitment. The evening concluded with thanks to God for His many blessings throughout another challenging yet fruitful academic year.
