We praise God for the inspiring Bow the Knee musical presented on April 11 and 12 at the recently renovated Arise Beirut building. The auditorium was full both nights, with a total of 308 attendees, two-thirds of which were non-Adventists. There were tears in people’s eyes as they revisited the beautiful story of Jesus’ life and sacrifice for us from a Roman centurion’s perspective. The combination of dialogues, touching music, lights, and colors was a really inspiring experience.
At the end of the musical, a short inspiring message was presented by Pr. Everson Torres. He also made an appeal for people who would be interested in visitation, prayer, and Bible studies. From that appeal, 67 people requested Bible studies. Please join us in prayer for those precious individuals seeking to know Jesus more intimately.
A number of MEU students, faculty, and staff participated as actors, actresses, or worked behind the scenes. It was moving to see how committed everyone was to exalt Jesus through the musical. One of the actors wrote: “Being part of the musical Bow the Knee has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. What touched me the most was seeing how the audience reacted; many were emotional, some in tears, clearly moved by the message. I could see that people weren’t just watching a play; they were experiencing the gospel. It was a blessing to be part of something that helped others grow spiritually while transforming my own faith as well” (Bishoy Kaldas).
We pray that every class, every event, every activity we do as Middle East University community will inspire people to bow their knees to Jesus. He is the reason we exist, live, and hope. All the glory to Him!
