Vice President for Academic Administration

The VP for Academic Administration occupies a unique place in the continuum of academic administration, as he/she is the facilitating link among faculty deans, faculty members, staff, students, and University leadership. All activities and roles of the Deans are undertaken in light of furthering the best interests of the university, and of the students at MEU. The VP Academic is appointed by the Board of Trustees, and is the second administrative officer of the university. As such, s/he serves as executive officer in the absence of the president or at such other times as the president may designate.

The main responsibility of the VP for Academic Administration is to coordinate and supervise the efforts of the Faculty Deans and the Registrar in ensuring the academic quality and viability of university offerings, and to lead out in strategic planning and visioning of overall academic values, goals, strategies, and future directions

Requirements:

Required

• Earned doctorate
• Minimum of 5 years of professional of teaching/education experience
• Associate Professor or Professor rank
• Active membership and involvement in the Seventh-day Adventist Church
• Education Management experience

Preferred

• Experience in working successfully with people from a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds
• Experience in curriculum development at the post-secondary level (minimum of three years)
• Experience in Higher Education Accreditation

Remuneration:

Remuneration is set according to the denominational wage scale at MEU/MENAUM, considering educational qualifications, professional experience and years of service. An International Service Employee (ISE) budget is available as of January 1, 2025.

Responsibilities include teaching relevant coursework, academic advising of students, and mentoring junior faculty members.

Courses are taught in English, other languages are a plus. Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred. Previous cross-cultural experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist the cafeteria director to provide nutritious meals in a clean and efficient environment. Duties may involve food preparation, cleaning, supervision of student workers, and serving meals.

Information Systems Assistant:

Responsibilities

Work with the IT Director to provide IT services to Middle East University.  Responsibilities may include: providing Help Desk assistance, maintenance of equipment, and helping with the development of infrastructure and systems.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Plant Services to maintain the physical plant of the university, including dorms, staff, and faculty housing.  Duties may include electrical work, plumbing, general maintenance, and supervision of student workers
