CERTIFICATE IN
The Advanced School of Volunteer Service (ASVS) offers a Certificate in Volunteer Service (CVS), an advanced training program for volunteers provided by the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology, in partnership with the Mission Institute of the Middle East and North Africa Union (MENAU) and the Adventist Volunteer Service (AVS).

During the process of identifying potential candidates for the ASVS, the sending organization must ensure that the following basic requirements are met to select suitable applicants:
• English Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English. For admission to Module A (Aug–Dec), a Duolingo English Test (DET) score of 100 (advanced) is preferred. For Module B (Jan–July), a minimum score of 80(intermediate) is required.
• University Degree: A completed or partially completed university degree is required to ensure candidates possess the necessary academic background for the program.
• Commitment to Service Post-Graduation. Candidates must commit to serving for a minimum of one year after graduating from the ASVS, demonstrating the willingness and ability to provide stability and continuity in their mission work.
• Single Status: Preference may be given to candidates who are single, in alignment with the mission’s specific requirements.
• Completion of Basic Mission Training (e.g., “Send Me”, book Passport to Mission): Candidates must have successfully completed a basic mission training and submit the certificate to demonstrate their readiness for the advanced level of training and mission service.
• Submission of a CV: A CV must be submitted, highlighting the candidate’s qualifications, experiences, and suitability for the mission.
• Application Process via VividFaith: All candidates must apply to the ASVS through VividFaith and complete the approval process.
The suggested sponsorship breakdown is as follows: the Missionary, Local Church, and Conference will each contribute 33.33%. The Union will cover travel expenses, and the GC-AVS will provide insurance. This partnership will strengthen Mission Refocus by enabling the preparation of volunteers to serve in the 10/40 window.
