More than 70 graduates and supporters gathered for dinner, giving back, and a shared mission to “plant where few dare.”
St. Louis (USA), July 8, 2025 – Last Tuesday, the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel welcomed nearly 80 alumni and friends of Middle East University (MEU) for a lively Alumni and Friends Gathering. The gathering, held on the sidelines of the Adventist Church’s 62nd General Assembly (General Conference Session), was marked by hugs, memories, and the certainty that the Beirut campus experience continues to unite people around the world.
During the dinner, attendees were able to support MEU’s Giving Day and, as a token of appreciation, take home a specially sized copy of “Jesus Over Beirut” by university artist Steve Creitz. This gesture reinforced the spirit of service that characterizes the institution: by recalling classes, service, and friendships that shaped their careers, guests invested in the future of new generations who will choose MEU as a place of study and mission.
The physical proximity to the America’s Center Convention Complex – home of the General Conference Session – made the meeting a natural extension of the global expo. Since the beginning of the assembly, the booth shared by MEU and the Middle East and North Africa Union (MENA) has received a steady stream of curious visitors: some considering enrolling in Beirut; others, volunteering or teaching. This enthusiasm is reflected on the university’s social media, where photos of meetings and new contacts are already circulating, inspiring the global community to “plant where few dare.”
General Conference Session
At the end of the evening, alumni and friends were invited to continue praying for MEU, asking God to bring to the university those He desires to impact the region and beyond. May each gathering, whether in St. Louis, Beirut, or anywhere in the world, strengthen the network of leaders trained to serve with excellence, compassion, and courage.
