Middle East University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with La Sierra University to Expand International Academic Opportunities
A new partnership between MEU and the California-based university aims to broaden academic pathways and make international study more accessible.
Beirut, Lebanon · October 16, 2026
Middle East University (MEU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with La Sierra University, located in Riverside, California, USA, marking another important step in MEU's commitment to expanding international academic partnerships and creating new opportunities for its students.
The agreement establishes a framework for developing articulation pathways in selected academic programs, subject to further development and approval by both institutions. These pathways may allow students to complete part of their studies at MEU and continue their education at La Sierra University, building on their academic foundation in Lebanon while exploring an internationally connected educational experience.
A New Connection to International Study
The partnership seeks to create additional options for students who wish to pursue part of their university education in the United States. By exploring academic pathways between the two institutions, MEU continues to work toward greater flexibility and access to international learning opportunities.
Specific pathways and their academic requirements will be defined as the collaboration develops and are subject to approval by both universities.
Academic Fields Under Consideration
The first programs being explored for future articulation pathways are:
Business Analytics
Human Resource Management
Nutrition
Neuroscience
These fields are under consideration, not yet confirmed as active articulation pathways. Further development and approval by both institutions are required. Additional programs may be explored as the partnership evolves.

Through this collaboration, both institutions have established a foundation for further academic discussions and the development of opportunities that respond to students' needs and ambitions.
Advancing MEU's Strategic Vision
This partnership reflects MEU's continued efforts to strengthen international collaboration, broaden academic pathways, and prepare students for meaningful careers and service in an increasingly interconnected world.
It also supports the university's Strategic Plan 2026–2029, particularly its emphasis on expanding international partnerships and developing articulation agreements that create new educational opportunities for students.
Through relationships with like-minded institutions, MEU seeks to empower students to pursue their aspirations, access broader learning experiences, and prepare to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
At MEU, expanding academic opportunities is part of our commitment to helping students build their future with knowledge, purpose, and an international perspective.
