BIO
Dr. Slaviša Janković is an Associate Professor of Religion at Middle East University (MEU), Lebanon, specializing in Old Testament studies, biblical exegesis, and atonement theology. He joined MEU in 2019 after serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Old Testament Department at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI (USA).
He earned his PhD in Religion from Andrews University, focusing on Old Testament ritual texts and the concept of atonement. His research explores the sacrificial system of ancient Israel, hamartiology, holiness, biblical law, and the theology of the sanctuary. Dr. Janković regularly attends and presents at international academic conferences, including the Adventist Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature, and is a member of the international and multidenominational scholarly group Exploring the Composition of the Pentateuch.
At MEU, Dr. Janković combines rigorous research with dedicated teaching, mentoring students in biblical interpretation, theology, and Old Testament scholarship, while contributing to MEU’s mission of transformative education in Lebanon and beyond.
