“I’m Patricia Assaker, I’m Lebanese, and I study Graphic Design. My time at Middle East University has been a life-changing experience that has shaped me in numerous ways. When I first arrived at MEU, I was unsure of what to expect. However, as I immersed myself in the vibrant student life and academic environment, I quickly realized that MEU was the perfect place for me to pursue my academic and personal goals.
As a student at MEU, I have grown significantly in terms of my values, character, and leadership skills. The university’s commitment to providing a holistic education that emphasizes moral and ethical values has been a key factor in my growth as a person. Through my interactions with fellow students, professors, and staff, I have learned the importance of compassion, empathy, and kindness. Moreover, the opportunities for leadership development and community service have allowed me to put these values into practice, making me a better person and a better leader.
One of the things I appreciate most about MEU is the quality of teaching. The professors are knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate about their subjects, and they go above and beyond to ensure that students receive the best possible education. In one particular course, I learned about the principles of entrepreneurship and innovation, which has opened my eyes to new opportunities and possibilities. Even though I didn’t have the chance to participate in the StartUp Competition, I was inspired by the experience to start my own project called #3alad, which I am currently working on launching soon. Additionally, I am collaborating with Pollen’s communication, a creative/communication agency, to develop my skills and gain practical experience. These opportunities have taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, and have given me the confidence to pursue my goals and dreams.”
Aside from my academic pursuits, I have also been involved in various extracurricular activities at MEU, including the Student Association, where I served as VP for Social Activities during the 2021-2022 school year. Through these activities, I have made lifelong friends, developed valuable skills, and gained a sense of belonging and purpose. Moreover, I have learned the importance of giving back to the community, which has inspired me to pursue a part-time job to support myself and my family. Without the scholarship I received from MEU, it would have been challenging for me to pursue my education in a private university, let alone find a part-time job that allows me to balance my studies and personal responsibilities.
I am immensely grateful for the scholarship that has allowed me to pursue my dreams at MEU. I encourage alumni and donors to continue supporting the Worthy Student Scholarship Fund, as it provides deserving students like me with the opportunity to receive a world-class education and transform their lives. Thank you for considering this worthy cause.”
