Snakes in Lebanon

Senior Biology major Robin Khoury wowed visiting high school students at MEU’s Open Doors event this spring. He shared general information about snakes, how to tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes, and which ones are found in Lebanon. There are three venomous species of snakes in Lebanon, and Robin has the dubious honor of having been bitten by all three! Although he has graduated now, Robin continues to be our campus snake expert, helping us identify reptiles we find anywhere in Lebanon. Robin wants to start his own business, taking his personal collection of animals to schools and other places to teach kids how to respect and appreciate these beautiful (to some people) creatures.
