YOUR STARTING POINT

What is the Arts Track?

The Arts Track is one of the two pathways within MEU’s Freshman Program. It gives eligible students a preparatory academic year before moving into a bachelor’s degree pathway, once the relevant academic and equivalency requirements are met.

It is designed for students who hope to study areas such as business, education, language, design, religion, or theology. You can start exploring what feels right for you while getting to know university life at MEU.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions you may already be asking

Choosing a track is an important decision. Here are the essentials—and where to check details that can change.

Is the Arts Track a bachelor’s degree?
No. It is a pathway within the Freshman Program, not a bachelor’s degree or a separate academic credential. It prepares students for possible entry into an undergraduate program after they meet the applicable requirements.
Who is the Arts Track designed for?
Students planning to pursue Business Administration, Elementary Education, English, Graphic Design and Digital Media, Religion, or Theology at MEU. Your intended degree matters because the two Freshman tracks have different academic requirements.
Do I need to choose my major immediately?
You can explore your interests, but you should discuss your intended degree direction with Admissions or an academic advisor before choosing a Freshman track. Changing direction may affect the courses or requirements you need.
What if I am interested in Information Systems?
MEU offers a Business Administration concentration in Information Systems as well as a separate Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. These are different degree routes. Ask Admissions which Freshman track fits the exact program you want to pursue.
What will I study during the year?
The program includes humanities and communication-related learning, social sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, and electives. Course selections and credit distributions are determined by the applicable MEU Academic Catalog.
Do I need the SAT or Lebanese equivalency?
Freshman admission is subject to secondary-school eligibility, an SAT requirement, and permission and equivalency procedures from Lebanon’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), as applicable. The required scores and documents can change; check the current catalog and confirm your individual case with Admissions.
Will Freshman credits count toward my bachelor’s degree?
No. Under the current academic policy, Freshman credits serve the preparatory and equivalency process and do not count toward the undergraduate degree’s credit requirements. The year has a different purpose from bachelor’s coursework.
Can I stay at MEU after finishing the Arts Track?
You may pursue an eligible bachelor’s program at MEU if you successfully complete the Freshman requirements, obtain the necessary equivalency, and meet that degree program’s admission requirements. Progression is not automatic or guaranteed.
