Worthy Student Scholarship Fund

Many alumni remember the time when students could work their way through MEU. These days, making ends meet calls for financial aid and scholarships, to supplement work. In a typical academic year—even after financial-aid eligibility is determined—more than 50% of students desiring to attend MEU come up short.

This is where the Worthy Student Scholarship Fund can make a world of difference!

For every $2,000 per year we have available in the Student Scholarship Fund, we can make sure that at least one student is able to bridge the financial gap and attend MEU.

While you can donate to the Worthy Student Scholarship Fund at any time of the year, MEU conducts a focused fundraising campaign from June to August, the time of the year when students apply for financial aid. For the school year 2023-2024 our goal is to raise $120,000, making it possible to help 60 students.

Last year the Worthy Student Scholarship Fund made a difference in the lives of 59 students, including Alissar, Patricia and Abraham (read their stories below). This year 68 students need help, including Esterk and Daniel (see their stories below). They need your support to continue their studies.

You can choose to donate on a monthly recurring basis, or on yearly one-time lumpsum. See below examples of monthly and yearly donations, and how much help it represents in percentage of tuition and fees for a student taking 38 credits during the school year 2023-2024.

Named Scholarships and Endowments

A gift to establish an endowment provides an invested pool of money to generate a reliable source of income in perpetuity. MEU invests the principal and uses the interest to support what the donor designates. Endowed scholarships and awards help make possible a Middle East University education for students who cannot afford it on their own. The individuals and families who have established named scholarships and endowments have made the difference for hundreds of young people.

If you would like to establish a scholarship, endowment, or award, please email Dr. Carlos Biaggi or call +961.71.189650 or +1.240.428.4270.
